Firestop are the solutions which are applicable based on testing done as Firestop assembly to get required Fire resistance in all through penetrations, joints and façade applications. Design conditions of one building may differ completely from that of another building and hence, it is important to consider these with respect to the test procedures used by understanding Codes and Standards in India. In case of significant deviations, additional testing or engineering judgement must be used based on the opinion of an expert. Our IS 12458 has been revised recently, in line with UL and seeing the need of Engineering judgment in assuring Fire resistance, we are also going to speak on key points mentioned in IS 12458.
