Rebarring Applications

Total System Solution for Rebarring Applications

In the past, connecting existing concrete members to new ones was a tedious task requiring chipping of the concrete to expose the reinforcement and tying or welding new reinforcement to it. However, since the 1980s, post-installed reinforcing bars (rebars) installed with chemical mortars have made connecting existing concrete members to new ones much easier. This technology has undergone a considerable amount of research and development to ensure that these connections are monolithic. In the early-2000s, EOTA introduced TR023 that standardised the assessment of post-installed rebar connections with chemical mortar. This covers most rebar connections, such as simply-supported, splice, and rigid (moment) connections where overlapping parallel rebars are available.
